Can you take Zoloft at night?

You take sertraline when it is comfortable for you. However, sertraline frequently causes insomnia. If sertraline interfere with sleep, then take it in the morning.

Can Xanax and Zoloft be taken together?

SSRI antidepressants and benzodiazepines are frequently used in combination to control depression and anxiety2. The combination of sertraline with Ativan (lorazepam), Klonopin (clonazepam), or Xanax (alprazolam) is generally considered safe.

Can you take Ambien with Zoloft?

Zolpidem may be safely co-administered with sertraline to improve sleep, but may result in more rapid and increased effect of zolpidem1.

  • Breastfeeding: There are several reports of the use of sertraline in breast-feeding mothers without evidence of an increased risk to the baby6. Sertraline may be considered for lactating mothers if SSRI treatment is necessary.
  • Mechanism of action: Sertraline potentiates the activity of serotonin by inhibiting neuronal uptake of serotonin in the central central nervous system. Sertraline is the only SSRI with a noticeable effect on the reuptake of dopamine.
  • It is also approved to treat OCD in children and adolescents aged 6-17 years.
